Department Name SURGICAL SERVICES Job Description POSITION SUMMARYNonexempt (Hourly - Eligible for overtime) To assist and provide technical skills to surgeons, anesthesia personnel, registered nurses and operating room staff.
To assist in ensuring cleanliness and organization in the operating room.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSWork experience may substitute for minimum education requirement.
Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technician Training Program or Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing Program approved by the Alabama Board of Nursing and one (1) year of surgical scrub experience required.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND SKILLSDemonstrates ability to operate various equipment within the operating room.
Troubleshoots all related equipment as needed.
Maintains accurate documentation for patients in the operating room.
Assists in positioning the patient to ensure comfort and safety.
Ensures all necessary equipment is in the operating room prior to the start of the case.
Maintains organization and cleanliness of the area.
Sterilizes and disinfects equipment after use.
Serves as a role model for new operating room staff.
