SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST-NE
POSITION SUMMARYExempt (Salaried - Not eligible for overtime) To evaluate, plan and administer medically prescribed speech therapy treatments for inpatients and outpatients with speech and/or swallowing disorders to assist them in reaching their maximum capabilities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSWork experience may NOT substitute for minimum education requirement.
Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology or related field and one (1) year of related experience.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND SKILLSCompletes Stat sheets and charge slips for each patient seen by the end of their work shift on a daily basis.
Overall Core Job Responsibilities ratings Assists in conducting various programs designed to promote speech therapy.
Plans and provides treatment to patients with communication disorders in accordance with established standards of care and practice.
Implements timely discharge from treatment including patient/family education, development of and training in a home program and referral for follow-up services as evidenced by documentation.
Directs other licensed and unlicensed personnel in the provision of care as assigned.
Maintains accurate and appropriate documentation and departmental records.
